Eugene Violin Shop

My experience has been awesome--Zack is extremely patient, helpful and knowledgeable, and does beautiful work!! UPDATE 10/22/18: Eugene Violin Shop has done a fair amount of work on my fiddle this year, and I've been very pleased with the service I've received. I was already happy with this shop, and this weekend I received "above and beyond" help with a tail gut that randomly broke Friday night. I thought I wasn't going to be able to play in a scheduled performance Saturday evening (or that I'd have to play someone else's unfamiliar fiddle), but Zack performed emergency surgery and got me back in action in plenty of time for the gig. I have purchased an excellent professional-level viola from Eugene Violin Shop (Zack Johnson), and am extremely happy with it. It is a small viola (which is what I was looking for), but has a strong, clear, rich tone that I love! It is very playable and I love this instrument. Additionally, I have helped students of mine buy violins from Zack, all of which have been some of the highest-quality student-level instruments I have encountered. Zack also does very excellent instrument repairs, and I have taken everything from my instruments to student's instruments to him, and only been very pleased with the work. Additionally, I teach in youth orchestra programs in Corvallis and Roseburg, and Zack has been so helpful in making sure my students' instruments are kept up to par. I highly recommend his work and his shop.
