Bubba, a second generation upholsterer, is a master at his craft as well as a master at customer service. He and his crew were so helpful, easy to work with, professional in all ways and the awnings are beautiful. And it was a great experience - thank you!
I am always satisfied with the work they do and I have been able to get it done on short notice. Much of the time I have little lead time before knowing what town I am going to and what I need to accomplish. Prices are fair and the crew is great. I will be sure to give them a call as first choice when I have upholstery, recovering and will need curtains for the RV very soon.
I called the store to discuss upholstering some chairs and was told to go ahead and make the two-hour drive with my furniture; that I didn’t need an appointment. When I arrived I was rudely dismissed and left standing at the desk for 40 minutes while Bubba sat and chatted and exchanged stories with two other customers. This was more than just him being busy - he gruffly acknowledged my presence without making eye contact and then continued to discuss politics and Air BnB’s while I stood a few feet away. I initially didn’t mind waiting, but it was almost like he was putting forth an effort to make me feel unwelcome - no eye contact, no attempt to hurry the conversation along, no attempt to include me in the discussion. There was a palpable difference in the rudeness he projected towards me and the friendliness he showed the people with whom he was conversing, and I have no idea what precipitated his treatment of me. This was high school snubbing 101. I turned and walked out without him ever offering me a word. He contemptuously disregarded my time (four hours of driving plus the time I spent standing and listening to him talk) and disregarded me as a person. I would be ashamed to hear that one of my employees treated anyone in such a manner.
Addendum: I would never expect customers who arrived prior to me to be pushed aside to accommodate me. That would also be poor customer service. In fact, I was impressed with how thoroughly Bubba answered the other couple’s questions. He did a great job attending to them. However, I do expect to be treated courteously when I enter a business, and I was not.
