Chato's mechanic service

First time I visited was pretty welcoming and seemed okay. Had to do a coolant flush and replace a thermostat. They gave me a decent price and did the job pretty well. came back again for another thing but one downfall made me not want to come back… requested an other appointment for tires and rims shortly after and also a new coolant overflow tank and they told me they would call me back to let me know when they were ordered and when to come in. 2 days later…never got a phone call. Called them back and said just do coolant overflow tank and they said sure it’ll be a little under 100$. So he scheduled it the next day around 10am. Woke up the next morning and DROVE 20 minutes and wasted gas. The young guy changed his mind to 200$. Waste of time. Said it was “inconvenient” of me to request such a small job when it could’ve been done earlier on the coolant job even though he said during the coolant job I can always come back if I change my mind about my bad overflow tank. Couple days days go by and I get hit with a scam in a way. So I guess it’s an extra 100$ on top of it for inconvenience apparently which is kinda an excuse. Did it myself for under 60$ with ease out of frustration of leaving…Pretty sure he thought I was some annoying young kid that didn’t know anything about cars. I was like nope and walked out.. not coming back again.. thought it was a good place with friendly people but not so much. Most likely they’ll think your annoying by changing your oil….so don’t expect them to kindly agree with a simple repair or heck even a oil change without a ridiculous “inconvenience fee” that you have to pay an extra hundred bucks for!! good mechanics but rude.

In addition to being good mechanics, they are fast, fair priced, and honest. I went to an auto glass specialist to replace my window regulator. They lost a piece and by the time I got it and went back to them to install it, the regulator they put in was broken. At Chato's I paid less for them to actually fix it than I paid for the botched job. Chato's also only took a couple hours while the specialist had me leave the car with them for a couple days. They also checked my engine light for free and advised me on what to do where the dealer would have charged me for a fix.
