I am very pleased with the repair of my sewer line by Aaron Preston and his team. The bid was far below the other competition and then with the money saved I had him replace both bathtubs faucets. And still was cheaper than Bud's bid. We are happy to have Benjamin Franklin as our new plumbers
Let me start off by saying if I could give this company zero stars, I would in a heartbeat. I have never been so disappointed.
Our water line was leaking. We were informed by the city that we had a pretty major leak - 18 gallons an hour. They referred us to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of NWA. Benjamin Franklin was punctual, which I appreciated. That was about the only positive thing I can say.
The leak was found by Trenchless Leak detection - a different company that charged us $350. A tech from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing came out to fix the problem. They proceeded to quote me $1693.00 to replace the part and provide labor. After expressing my concern at the price, the tech told me it was $280.00 for parts alone. I asked him if this was the best he could do. His response was yes. My husband also spoke with him to ensure that it was indeed an ok deal.
I was naive enough to think that honesty and integrity was going to be used in this situation. Here are the notes from the invoice.
"Customer has a water leak at the meter nut.
Tech called Bentonville utilities and had a meter tech meet us on site to verify that the issue is the homeowners.
Tech also received city supplied washers for the union nut on end of meter loop.
City states that they are not responsible for this issue.
Task description Price and total:
RL5-11 spot repair with DEPTH OF LESS THAN 2FT 1.00 $1,693.00"
The hole was the size of a bread box. This took less than one hour to fix. After the fix, they found that there was ANOTHER leak in the yard. They then said it would be ANOTHER 1600.00 dollars! I would have to have the leak detection agency come back out as well in order to find where in the yard the leak might be. Absolutely not.
I called around. Luckily, DPH Plumbing was able to come out a few days later. They said it would be less than 800 dollars and would give us a more precise number when the work was finished.
DPH TUNNELED under my sidewalk in to fix the issue. Our builder had used very poor tubing. They didn't just patch the problem. DPH replaced the entire hose. It took them around 3 hours. The total that DPH charged? $507.17. That's less than a third of the price for 3 times the labor.
If you use Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, please, please, please, get a second opinion. They took advantage of my naivete, and I certainly paid for it. I would hate for anyone else to have to deal with this issue when it could be avoided.
A.J., Segio, and Jacob replaced our water line from the meter to the house. These guys know their stuff! They worked quickly and got everything done in less than a day--the only delay was waiting for the inspection. You absolutely need to use Benjamin Franklin plumbing.
A.J. (Andrew) with Benjamin Franklin conducted a thorough, professional inspection of the plumbing for a home we are buying in Siloam Springs. He provided a comprehensive, understandable explanation of the entire plumbing system from faucets to sewage and gave us a clear analysis of items needing immediate attention, those that can wait, and those that were functioning well. He followed up with a thorough cost analysis and timeline for repairs.
A.J. was extremely courteous, trustworthy, and respectful throughout the entire time. He was very patient in answering all of our questions. We did not hesitate to contract with Benjamin Franklin to make the repairs as suggested. Definitely call them!
