If you're looking for an affordable and reliable place to get your car fixed by genuinely good people, this is the shop to go to. I needed work done on my ’06 Mazda Tribute while traveling through Juneau between ferry trips, so my schedule was extremely tight. My main reason for going in was to replace the front wheel bearings, but two days before my appointment my battery also died. I called and asked if they could check it and replace it if needed, and they were happy to help. Since I was about to head out on a long ferry ride followed by a lot of driving, I also asked if they could look over a few other things. They went above and beyond — performing an oil change that was needed, topping off the windshield washer fluid, checking the tires and tread, and inspecting the brakes. Rusty kept me updated throughout the process, which really helped put my mind at ease. Compared to other shops I talked to in Juneau and even Bellingham, Affordable Auto & Tire was the only one that felt confident in the work, could work with my schedule, and didn’t quote me an outrageous price. The staff were kind, communicative, and clearly very knowledgeable. I now feel incredibly comfortable driving my car again. If I ever need work done in Juneau again, this will absolutely be the shop I come back to.

Very nice folks but the quality isn’t there. I went there a few times and decided to get my car looked at by 2 other shops just to be sure only to be told by both that 1) I don’t need a $2000 brake job my brakes are good and 2) the rattling didn’t go away after this shop “fixed” it because the problem was actually something else completely that could be very dangerous if not fixed. I’d trust them to be kind to you but not to actually fix a problem with your car.

I recommend nobody go to this car shop after 3 plus years of going to affordable to get all of my maintenance done on my car I eventually I bought a car from the owner In which he informed me, it was a good car and there was no maintenance that had to be done on it. I believe he sold me the car out of good faith not knowing there was problems with the car. I took the car back to him because the car was shaking while in drive literally right after I bought the car not even driving it more than 50 miles. He could not figure out the problem. I then had to go to three different mechanic shops to figure out the problem. He informed me he was going to pay for the cost of the repairs, but he did not. He told me he was only going to pay for the diagnostic which was only 1/10 of the cost of the repairs which were over $1000. Please be aware of the shop. For they do not do good business.
