I first took my computer to the Geek Squad with a pretty good idea of what the issue was. They assured me—politely but confidently—that I was wrong, then explained why they couldn’t fix it using some statements about basic computer components that… didn’t quite line up with how computers actually work. Apparently, one part being attached somehow meant an entirely different, unrelated thing was impossible. Interesting theory. So I called Zip Zap. After a short phone conversation and some basic info, they were already describing the exact problem I suspected—no debating, no head-scratching, and no creative reinterpretation of computer anatomy... After a short phone conversation and some basic info, they were already describing the exact problem I suspected—no debating, no head-scratching, and no creative reinterpretation of computer anatomy. I brought it in, they confirmed the issue, and had it fixed within a couple of days. Pricing was reasonable, the work was solid, and the whole experience felt refreshingly competent. I wasn’t looking for validation, but it was reassuring to know I wasn’t crazy. Zip Zap has earned my business for anything computer-related going forward. They’re absolutely worth the drive across town—especially if you prefer fixes over fiction.
This is a very late review. I took my computer in to have the hinge and screen border replaced. I paid for a new covering. When I was told that it was ready, I brought the charger and we tried powering her up, lights came on, screen did not. They kept it an extra day to fix it. No problem there. My issue is that they did not fix the screen wrap/border part and it is still unusable safely. I am talking about the part that covers the front of the monitor and the hinge. As this was also why I brought it in the first time. A lot of the reviews I have read seem fake, so I figured I'd share my experience.
Im giving then 10 stars, 5 isnt good enough. We appreciate you guys. Customer service was outstanding. Had a phone fixed there and with a quick look, found pretty much what was wrong with it. They had the part we needed for the phone and graciously fixed it the same day we brought in. I highly recommend ZipZap Computers the man knows his stuff.
Helpful and informative staff and fair pricing. I paid a 60 dollar diagnostic deposit, which would have been deducted from any further charges: for example, if I needed a 100 dollar repair I would have only paid 40 dollars more. I think this is a great policy.
I recently purchased a used Playstation 2 which had some issues with its exhaust fan. After struggling to fix the problem myself, I brought the system to ZipZap where they quickly repaired the console with no hassle, even going as far as to perform additional work under a generous warranty when a related issued appeared. They have Incredible customer service and quality repairs. I will definitely return if any other computer related issues arise.
