On 7/7/22 Took my Jeep in to get freon put into the AC. They quoted me 240 to 280 and kept my Jeep all day. Their diagnosis was that ac would not hold vacuum. They said they added Freon and leaked tested. They then said active leak at evaporator core and they would need to start there. Evaporator is located behind dash. Also advised that if replacing to also replace heater core and actuators. For two summers I drove without ac. They even told my daughter that replacing AC would cost more than Jeep was worth. I didn’t have the funds and wouldn’t have the funds for this $2800 fix. I am disabled my daughter who is in the military paid 143.99 for this information. Skip forward to now. Took my Jeep to another local mechanic. He added Freon and dye to my system. Blew cold. He found the leak in one of the lines and repaired it. The dye added pointed to a leak in one of the AC lines and not the evaporator. . He also said no other dye had been added as he couldn’t find it anywhere. I suffered two summers for a fix that cost me $159. To fix which took less than 15 minutes to repair. Shame on you first for lying and second for making a disabled person suffer in the heat for two summers! I will never ever use this company again and my brother who referred me will not either!
