Mr Lawson treats every customer in a fashion that makes you think you are the sole reason he is there! Knowledgeable, honest, and sincere, he will get what you are looking for, or fix what you broke. He, and his staff, remain honest... even if it means they lose a sale! That is the kind of integrity I need in a jeweler, and the reason that I don't go to anyone else... ever!
When we moved to Louisville we got a recommendation to check out St Matthews Jewelers. We met Billy and Kelly and staffers and made a very nice purchase. We recently returned to have my wedding band stretched from a 9 to a 10.5. Another jeweler was hesitant to do it but Billy was quite confident he could accomplish the task. He did! My ring never looked better. He buffed out 46 years worth of scratches and it looks like it did moments after saying: “I do” I encourage all reading this to give them a try. You will be glad you did!
Fantastic company. Have done business with Billy for years and I’m never disappointed. From a custom made engagement ring and earrings, to watch and necklace repair, the work is always excellent and service exceptional. Highly recommend using St Matthews Jewelers!
I took an expensive watch in for repair . Battery was replaced . It ended up not being the battery . I was within my one year warranty. I was told it would be sent out but that the repairman would not be happy since the warranty would be expiring soon . Jeweler never called me . I called . Owner of jeweler store could not report issue with watch or what was repaired . He requested I pick up my watch that day even after hours . He said I needed to do business elsewhere for repairs . When I picked up my watch it was not working . Needless to say — they did not standby their warranty and I believe I was lied to about my watch . It should be noted that I paid for a new battery even though it should have been free IF they followed their warranty policy . Why offer a warranty if one won’t uphold their own policy ? Have informed many people of this experience . Extremely disappointed .i see now they are not accredited by BBB either and per other reviews I wish I read them before I went here.
Billy and staff take care of their customers. We recently came in to look at wedding bands and Billy cleaned my fiance's engagement ring for free. Additionally, had a battery in my watch replaced and had it returned to me the next morning. This is the only jeweler I will shop at in town. If you wish to have a more personal experience and avoid the feel of big box diamond stores, go see Billy.
