I've had several repairs done at the store. One replacement of a battery that only lasted 6 months on my MAC. The warranty period was 12 months. The personnel swapped the defective battery out no questions asked! This is service in a timely manner at its best!!! Thanks again guys for standing behind your warranties!!!
I want to update my review because, despite my initial frustration, I truly appreciate the effort to make things right. The owner of Tech Restored reached out with genuine concern, acknowledged the miscommunication and mistakes on both sides, and asked for the chance to fix the situation. I gave them that opportunity, and while the experience started off rocky, the professionalism and care improved significantly, making the overall experience much better than before. Thank you, and excellent job. I aimed to support small businesses within the community by personally delivering my product to them. Initially, the experience was quite positive; the young man I interacted with demonstrated professionalism, collected the payment, and commenced the installation process while they had possession of my product. I regularly checked for updates, but the process was repeatedly postponed. Ultimately, I received an email informing me that the installation could not be completed. When I visited to retrieve the product, I was informed that the cover was the wrong plate. I was disappointed, as the parts had never been opened. The product provided an upgrade with a kit, so I knew the plate was the correct one. Having installed them myself on two or three occasions, I was able to verify the correct plate which contradicted their claim. It would have been preferable if they had been transparent and communicated clearly that the issue was outside their scope or expertise. Instead, their lack of honesty about the reason for the failure was disheartening. I wish them continued success, and if I may offer advice, it would be to prioritize transparency with consumers and clients. Notwithstanding, the employees I interacted with were courteous and professional.
TechRestore and Jeff, the owner, are awesome. I thought I needed a repair on my 2 laptops. Jeff spent 30 minutes with me and did not charge me anything...and he fixed my issues...saving me $135. I will be going back to TechRestore whenever I have a laptop issue. Thanks Jeff/TechRestore.
As an IT professional I can say unequivocally that these guys are incredible. Tl;dr - this is the place to go in Louisville for computer and mobile device repair. Friendly, reasonably priced, expert-level service. I was installing a replacement battery in an older MacBook Air - no small task, real pain in the buttocks, involves glue - and I thought I had done everything correctly yet there was no power. Obviously something was amiss under the hood. I swung the device by TechRestore and explained what I had done and they said No Prob, Bob, we'll take a look. In 24 hours they had found where I installed the thingamajig UNDER the whatchamacalli... As an IT professional I can say unequivocally that these guys are incredible. Fantastic IT experience. The gentlemen I worked with were professional and courteous the entire time. I mention this next bit because it's important to me and I think it helps illustrate this store's ethos: while I was there dropping it off, there was an elderly customer off to the side being patiently walked through an issue on his laptop. It stands out to me because IT can be overwhelming if you didn't grow up with computers as a thing, and while the customer was definitely in over his head, he wasn't at all frustrated or overwhelmed. He was receiving white-glove treatment and not getting taken to the cleaners, and I just really appreciated seeing that level of customer service in action. Keep up the fantastic efforts, TechRestore. It's greatly appreciated and your employees are exemplary.
I live about 30 minutes away. I took my PlayStation here, and was told it would take 3-5 days. After them having it for 8 days I called and was told it’d be ready within the hour, and before the store closes. I arrive around 5:20 and was ignored for atleast 5 minutes as an employee chatted with someone else. Then gave excuses as to why it’s not finished. At that point they were way past the original time frame I was given. No compensation, no apology. It’s ready the next day, and surprise it still isn’t fixed. They supposedly don’t do refunds and I have to drive another 30 minutes back and forth. It’s very upsetting and bad business on their... I live about 30 minutes away.
