I was leaving town and over topped the oil. I called 3 places close to me. First 2 were no help, just gruff and said change your oil. 3rd was Springfield Automotive. Friendly phone greeting by Mark, explained issue and was replied with. Yes we can help, come on down. Mike extracted the oil in 10 mins. I was home in less then 30 mins and still on time to leave for my road trip. I go to pay and Mark says, go buy an ice cream. I tipped with joy and left with a tear knowing kindness in humanity still exists. Thank you Springfield Automotive, you have a new customer.

I was very lucky to pull into Springfield Automotive last week when I had an unusual problem with my car. I asked Danny, the owner, how I could get the remains of a dead rat removed from under the hood. It was cooked on there so I got what I could off and there were still a lot of pieces I couldn’t reach. He asked me to pop the hood. Then he used some needle nose pliers, hosed it down, then even used some degreaser to get rid of the smell. To finish it off, he air blowed it dry. I didn’t know if I could put water under the hood and was afraid I might ruin my car, so I’m very grateful he cleaned it properly for me. I offered to pay him and he said to just come in and see him when I need work done. I definitely will. He also tested my battery because I mentioned that I had to jumpstart it and that’s when I noticed the rat. He showed me my battery is down to 67% and I’m grateful to know that I need to have him put a new one in. Talk about serendipity! I’ve been looking for a good and trustworthy mechanic. I just went to the closest place to my dog groomer to take care of this while they were there and little did I know I found my new mechanic. Thank you, Danny!

True customer service on a Friday afternoon!! I was traveling through town with major squeaky belts. The owner looked at it with in 2 minutes of my arrival and then fixed it himself. They charged me a totally reasonable amount and restored my faith in the existence of honest mechanics and decent men 😉. Thank you so much Danny, you allowed me to get home safely before dark. That is a true gift when you're traveling alone late on a Friday with one headlight!
