Re-cell Electronics

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! bought a phone here last year, under the impression it is UNLOCKED. Took it to a phone store in lee’s summit to sell (after buying another phone from recell because the old one got run over, but the sales guy told me he wouldn’t be able to give me an offer without the repair guy present) so I took it somewhere else after they said they could not make an offer on it. the other phone store tells me there is an MDM lock- what businesses/ schools do to keep their devices in network. but this phone was supposed to be UNLOCKED when I bought it. therefore, I cannot sell to a business. I could sell to an individual but that feels dishonest knowing there’s some sort of lock on this. I called last night to talk to the owner Brent because when I first found out, he wasn’t there and the sale rep didn’t have any idea what an MDM lock was. ended up leaving my name and number. had to call back tonight because I still heard nothing back. the guy on the phone tonight started nice but eventually developed a pretty snarky attitude. recell said they could possibly buy this back for $50… the other phone store said without the lock they’d give me $100.. places on marketplace that buy used phones offered more too… they claim since I bought it a year ago they can’t find it in their system and basically said I’m SOL or they MIGHT buy it for $50. when I didn’t agree with that, they recommended I try to dishonestly sell to an individual as unlocked. all in all, this has completely tainted my view on this company. as a returning customer, I originally appreciated that they seemed they wanted to help. but after talking to the gentleman for a bit, it started to feel like I was being talked down to.. and with the offer given compared to others, now feeling as if I’m being taken advantage of. THIS SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN LOCKED TO START WITH. sucks because I took care of the owner when I worked at the DMV and thought he was a great guy. this situation reflects totally opposite. its disappointing that they’re trying to take advantage of people, as well as talking down to them over an issue that should not be happening in the first place had they done their due diligence in ensuring the phone was actually unlocked as advertised. if you want to be lied to, belittled when there are issues that are not your fault, and taken advantage of- I recommend going here!
