I try my best to support local businesses and was really happy with Port City Fence and Deck. We really didn't like the deck that came with the house, which we bought almost 10 years ago, and wanted to replace it with a staircase to open up the backyard. Carlos found a better solution, which was to convert the deck into a staircase - a simpler and more cost-effective solution. The crew that did the work was very professional, including making sure we were ok along the way (no surprises). Now I catch myself staring out the window admiring the final product.
Port City Fence did an amazing job! They were very professional from start to finish and made the whole process easy. The team was on time, worked efficiently, and the quality of the fence turned out perfect. I’m really happy with their work and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable fencing company.
We cannot recommend Port City Fence and Deck for services due to a highly unsatisfactory experience involving significant project delays, disorganized execution, considerable stress, and property damage. What should have been a straightforward fence repair and painting job turned into a prolonged ordeal with a disappointing outcome.
The project spanned an excessive 108 calendar days, despite most of that time offering suitable weather for outdoor work, and required at least six separate visits to address initial work and corrections. This prolonged timeline directly resulted from a lack of consistent organization and oversight, making the entire process far more stressful than necessary.
Upon completion, we noted multiple issues stemming from careless workmanship. Our property suffered from extensive paint overspray and residue on ladders, patio furniture, planters, decking, and parts of the house exterior. The paint finish itself was poor, displaying visible drips, lap lines, and a tacky texture. Furthermore, our garden was damaged, with several plants harmed or killed and a planter cracked due to improper handling during the painting process.
We pursued a resolution, which ultimately led to a $500 discount on our $3,600 bill. While we accepted this offer to conclude the matter, we firmly believe this compensation did not adequately account for the extensive time, frustration, and damage incurred.
