Pelham Heating & Air Conditioning was amazing from start to finish. They arrived promptly, diagnosed the issue fast, and had my AC running in no time. The technician was polite and professional. I appreciated their honesty and fair pricing. Highly recommend this company!
The original PTAC unit in my apt. was failing, and the only viable replacement seemed to be an Ice-Air. Less than 13 month later, the compressor went and is now in for repair/replacement. I was also told that this unit would be more energy efficient than my older PTAC unit, but my bills are significantly higher.
Bought 2 ice air PTAC units 2 years ago. 13 months after purchasing them, and one month out of warranty, one of the AC units stopped working and had to be fixed for roughly half the price of a new unit. 2 years after purchasing, the heating part of both PTAC’s stopped working. Have had both units serviced every 6-9 months for upkeep and still had these issues.
They say this air conditioner is a whisper system but it's really loud. The digital panel also always reads a temperature that it isn't the actual room temp. If you have a management company that does poor maintenance or is too cheap to have the company come out for filter replacements and unit cleaning then you will be just like me and have increased breathing issues and be ignored by everyone in the office and the state you send letters to until you eventually die or save enough (which if you live in nyc= impossible) to move. One positive I can say is that when I called the company I was able after the second call to get an engineer on the phone who very clearly explained that they offered to provide maintenance but it was rejected and that my breathing issues are from the negligence of my building management company. (Still doesn't negate that the unit is loud but it surely does get the room cold if it's reading properly that day, so that's where the two stars comes from. One for sometimes working and the other for customer service. I would have posted video but apparently that's not an available option.
