Made a huge mistake purchasing a severely overpriced part from this store and when I was being practically given the part and counterpart for free I was not able to return the unused, extremely overpriced part. Please do your research before buying from here! You can definitely get everything you need for much less expensive and there are lots of people in the eugene and Springfield area who won't charge you almost $200 to service a machine.
Update: The owners did offer to honor the price of the part found on Miele's website. When I asked them to further investigate the squeaking when transitioning to thinker carpet, the service technician found it was the brush motor and replaced it with a used part they had that was in better shape at no cost. I'm very pleased with this outcome because this is the service I have gotten used to at Paramount Sewing and Vacuum and was surprised by the previous conversation as outlined in my initial review below.
I purchased my miele vacuum from Paramount in 2014. I have been bringing it in annually for service and repair ever since. The previous service team was great - efficient, reasonable, and reliable but things change. Miele no longer makes uprights and I'm aware I will need a new machine soon but want to squeeze more years out of it to get closer to their 20 year promise. I was shocked to learn paramount wanted to charge me $140 more than the online miele manufacturer price for a new hose. I declined saying I would purchase directly from the company. Because I chose this option, my machine will be marked unserviceable in their system for the future because Im choosing to buy a part that is not from Paramount, even if its from Miele. They did confirm the online price but reasoned its likely because Miele is discounting parts they will no longer carry. This policy combined with a young service/repair team that is still learning, is causing me to continue my business elsewhere. Not that I have a choice in the matter since my vacuum is now blacklisted.
Disappointed with inflexible return policies.
We have a Miele vacuum cleaner and have bought replacement bags and filters from Paramount for years. Recently, we bought a bunch of bags, plus an attachment. When we got home, we realized we didn’t really need the expensive attachment. We also bought a pack of needles that we decided were too small. When I went back two days later to return them (both unopened) they would only give store credit for the attachment, and no return or credit at all on needles because they were “open stock.” Bottom line, they have a good stock of vacuum and sewing supplies and equipment, but be aware of their strict return policies.
