Just had a heater that was installed back in 2009 break. Likely the thermal coupler since the pilot was not staying lit after turning it on or some sort of gas flow issue. Joe and Julian came out to check it out and just by looking at the heater advised that since this is an old unit, a replacement would be needed. Since the labor costs and the lead time + cost for parts was not worth it in comparison to installing a new unit, I agreed with them on that as it made sense and told them we would install the new one. They installed it and everything works great so far so weβre happy with that aspect of the service. They did damage the wallβs drywall slightly and scuffed paint on the staircase to the basement when removing the old unit but thatβs not the reason for the 2 stars as that was fine, we can repair that stuff easily. The reason I am giving this review 2 stars is due to the process and the overall experience with payment. this is how it went: - For context the price came out to $2275. - Grabbed cash in $100 bills, so $2300 total. - Counted it. Gave cash to my brother and asked him to count to verify, then I counted a second time and we both confirmed there was 2300 there. - Went to basement where they were cleaning up and handed the cash over to the older gentleman. Told him to count if he wanted to make sure itβs all there. - He proceeds to count and tells me he doesnβt have change. - I wait for him to finish counting and he says βthereβs $2200 hereβ - I said βNo, thereβs 2300β. - He then proceeds to count 10 bills, hands me them, counts another 10 and holds them in his left hand, then shows me 2 bills on his right hand and says β22!β. - I said βlet me seeβ, grabbed the money and counted 23 bills right in front of him and said βthere is 23 hereβ he said βoh okβ. Handed him the money and told him I was going to check for change (my mistake). - Went to check for change and did not have it, decided to let him keep the extra $25 as a βtipβ and went back downstairs to tell him. - I proceed to tell him and he says βbut thereβs only 2200 here we still need the $75β, AGAIN trying to claim there are 22 $100 bills instead of 23. - We go back and forth and I told him βthereβs 23 there and I counted it three times, once in front of youβ. - He takes the bills out of his wallet and proceeds to start counting again and I watch him count all 23 bills and tell him βthatβs 23 right thereβ when he finishes counting the last one. He says βoh these bills are stickyβ (they were not) and rubs two of them together to βshow meβ and apologizes. I brushed it off then, but after putting some thought into it I wanted to provide a review to let others know of this experience as that was a ridiculous experience and felt very much so like a very dishonest and bad intended experience. For that reason, we will not be calling this company again for service.
