Countless phone calls and 4 roundtrip drives to Augusta and my mom got her refund check, less $260.for the 2 service calls. What a nightmare. The Google reviews don't reflect the true nature of this business. Read the BBB and Yelp reviews before proceeding. My mother is 80 years old and on social security. On 6/30 my mother wrote a check for $785 for a microwave repair. It was cashed immediately. On 7/9 she wrote a check for $1,856.45 for a refrigerator repair. He also cashed that check immediately. It is 8/12. I have called no less than 20 times. I have called from my dad's phone, my phone, my son in California, my phone. I even got a Google voice number with an 803 area code. I have left messages and messages. I finally got a hold of someone last week who told me the part was backordered but they would come and install it LAST WEEK. Ghosted by a man who preys on elderly people who think that repair people get paid up front. They don't. I'm an electrician. I have never demanded up front payment. Here's where it gets even crazier. I went to the address listed on their website for Mr. Appliance of Aiken. It is a Woodside address for a building that doesn't exist. My mom and I drove 40 minutes each way to the shop listed at 2917 Riverwest in Augusta. They actually do have a shop there. Now we just want a refund, because we dealt with a guy at Sloan who recommended we just get a new fridge. $1,856 stolen by Mr. Appliance $1,080 for the new fridge we just bought from Costco. Beware anyone who does business with Quentin, the owner who showed up, cashed $2500 in checks from my mom, and then ghosted us. Photos of the vacant lot in Aiken where Mr. Appliance pretends to have a shop. Edit: I have driven down to Augusta four times. The first time, I met in office employee who said she would pass it on to Alicia. Alicia doesn't handle checks so I talked to her twice and she said come back on Friday after 1:00 p.m.. My mother's check combined would be there. The last time I showed up I ran into Quinton who told me he had no idea what any of this was about, but that he would refund my mother in full and I should just call him Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.. spoiler alert: it's Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. and I have not heard a peep from Quentin. $2,800 is my mother's entire social security check that was stolen by this company. I will not stop until I get a refund. Another edit: My mother finally did get her money in mid-August. They deducted I think like $600 for the service call visits. Good grief!
