Howard's Appliance Center

We had been looking for a new washer and dryer for weeks and Howard's was the 5th place that we visited. I didn't have any confidence about the washers and dryers that we saw at the other places, plus most of them either had low inventory or lousy sales people. Doug, our sales person at Howard's, was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was really happy with the quality and price of the washer and dryer that we ended up purchasing...loved the modern look with the affordable price tag. So sad. Having to repair a 4 yr old washing machine that we purchased brand new from Howards is tough, especially when it is sold as being the same quality, same manufacturer, same reliable motor as the big name brands. Having the cost of repair be the same price as a new machine is ridiculous. We will now go to Home Depot or Best Buy and purchase another new machine (they have for same price or less than we paid 4 yrs ago) and pay $139 for an extended 5 year warranty and be covered if it breaks in 4. I would certainly consider Howards for cheap used appliances, but nothing new ever.

Doug sold me a use washer machine with a 30 days warranty that leaks from the bottom 6 weeks later. Now Howard's Appliance expects me to pay $125 for someone to come look at a use washer machine you sold me 6 weeks ago. Stay away from this place? Do not purchase no use appliances from this place?

⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 star) – Consumer Warning ! I bought a used washing machine from this store at the end of November, and it broke after only about two months. I still have two payments left on it. When I returned to the store, I was told there was only a 30-day warranty, and they refused to help. I am 62 years old and on a fixed income, and this has caused real financial stress. Buyers should be very careful—used appliances here may not last, and there is no support once the short warranty ends.

Charged $260 for a 15-minute repair to replace a simple door switch. No major parts, no lengthy labor—just an extremely inflated price. I would not recommend unless you’re comfortable paying premium rates for very minor work.
