Monroe Floor Resurfacing

One year update - we had our floors done November 2023. I think based on reviews they are a good fit for newer houses and floors that don't need a lot of layers removed. Originally one of our bedroom floors was painted, and the rest had deep scratches and overall needed a deeper sanding. There was minimal dust to clean up which was great, and maybe a few smudges on the wall we took care of. We had a wacky hole in the corner of one of the closets that they did a phenomenal job fixing. They left some chips in the floor here and there, and the seal is grainy in quite a few spots. The spots where the drum streaks are really noticeable are a little disheartening. Compared to before the floors are satisfactory, but we wished the quality was a bit better.

Anthony and his crew provide exceptional service. From the beginning of our interaction, responses were prompt and they were able to get our job done in a single day with very minor final touch the following day. We struggled at first to find someone to trust with our 100 year old floors after we peeled back layer of linoleum and tar. Despite us being experienced DIYers, floor finishing was one aspect we wanted to contract out to people with the right equipment and skills. Shown in the before photos you can see how rough and covered in black the floors were. Monroe Floor Resurfacing showed up with all the right tools, including dust collection that left our house clean without the need for plastic sheeting over every door. Communication was great throughout the process. The floors needed some holes patched and they were able to take from the pantry to match the existing and install new pieces where it won’t be seen, though the patch still looks great! They used Rubio Monocoat at our request which was a new finish for the crew, but they had used other hardwax oil finishes and had all the right equipment and methods. Some old water stains couldn’t be totally removed but with cabinets in that spot is mostly covered anyway. I would recommend them to anyone that needs wood floor work done. The whole team is respectful, skilled, and pleasant to work with, which is rare to find in the construction industry.
