Just recently moved back to the Dubuque area and had to replace many rooms with carpet and LVP flooring. Mike was wonderful and made the process so easy ! Tried Carpetland and their prices were way more money even though they had a "free installation" sale. The quality and craftsmanship from Mel's was impeccable. I highly recommend Mel's for any type of flooring you are looking for.
Overall not a great experience, first visit I just looked around and took some samples. Second visit I tried to order floor but the sales man wouldn’t let me order floor because he didn’t help me the first visit. Wrote my number down so the other guy could order floor for me. Never got a call back. Finally went back for a third time to order flooring. Once it was ordered I went to pick it up; they charged me for a full bucket of glue and tried giving me a half bucket already opened because they said that would be plenty. I got my receipt and proved I paid for an entire bucket. During installation I still ran out of glue even with a full bucket and they knew the square footage. Overall I’d say great flooring selection but customer service could use some work.
Mike was super helpful and friendly. He wasn’t pushy and showed us what they had to offer and let us decide for ourselves what we wanted. I’d highly recommend Mel’s carpet to everyone. I also recommend Steve from Phillips Flooring who is an installer for them. He does an amazing job and is very thorough. He is very friendly and on time.
Was referred to Mel's Carpet outlet from someone we knew, we had tried Carpetland but the pricing was too expensive even with the Free Pad/Installation they were offering. The experience was a breeze, we showed up to Mel's during business hours got a tour, asked a few questions, and then we picked a carpet! Justin helped me get a slot within a week to get my carpet replaced which I hugely appreciated. Our tech Chris who showed up to install the carpet did a great job as well. Will be coming back to Mel's for any flooring needs in the future.
I found beautiful carpets from the vast selection at Mel's Carpet Outlet. Mike came out to the house to do all the measuring (for free) so that we could have a firm cost for the carpets we selected from the showroom. Mike was super quick and detailed in his measuring and has been nothing but professional in working with our needs. The home I'm carpeting was previously owned by someone that had pet accidents and Mel's carpet installers will be putting down the Kilz product as part of our contract to make sure the smells don't come through to the new carpet. Inside the store there was a number of large remnants to choose from if someone was going to do an individual room or didn't need to match carpet throughout a space. The carpet installer, Steve, went above and beyond to make sure that the carpets were installed beautifully and also that the Kilz product was properly applied. This is a female owned company and I was able to get some very helpful advise from the owner, Kristin Smith!
