This shop has fast become my favorite. They're quick, they're fair, they don't talk down to me when I ask question. They tell me exactly what is wrong, how much it will cost, and honestly, if I stay within an hour of this shop if I ever move, Lykon is where I'm coming to. Best shop in the tristate area! It could be day or night, you give Gerard a call & he will help you out anyway he can. My transmission blew in my brand new car last Monday and my car was up and running again by Thursday. Dave upfront is a perfect asset to the well oiled mechanics busting their butts to make the place run as smooth as can be. Especially as a young woman, Lykon is the place to go for all your mechanical needs- for the real honest deal.

As a business owner myself, I really dislike writing reviews like this. But I feel it’s necessary to share my experience. I own a classic 1953 Ford Customline. I first brought it to Lykon after it broke down while driving—apparently a carburetor issue. They did several repairs (even redoing some work another mechanic had already done) and I paid around $2,500. Unfortunately, the problem wasn’t fixed, and I had to bring the car back again. Later, we had already agreed on doing a wiring replacement, which I was quoted for in advance. But when I got the final bill, it was $700 more. I paid anyway, thinking I just wanted the work done. Still, I couldn’t enjoy my car because the original issue kept coming back. They then suggested replacing the gas tank. Once again, the final bill was higher than the quote—this time $200 more. I paid, but the problem continued. By now, my car had been at their shop for almost a year. I had invested over $6,500, and I still couldn’t drive it. Eventually, they replaced the fuel pump, but the issue remained. They told me the car was “running fine,” and even mentioned that the owner himself was driving it around as if it were his own. At that point, I was frustrated and done. I finally took the car to another mechanic. He immediately discovered the carburetor had been installed incorrectly, with loose parts and even an air pump connected in the wrong place. He fixed the problem quickly, for a fraction of what I had already spent at Lykon. After all this, it’s hard for me to trust this shop’s ability to properly handle repairs. Unfortunately, my experience with them was time-consuming, extremely costly, and left me disappointed. Edit: I was given this guys two stars but took one out after finding out that after paying almost $5,000 for them to re wire my car they didn’t do it correctly. Now I’m paying a competent mechanic to fix the horrible job these guys did. Save yourself some money and a lot of headaches and stay away from this place.

Have been using Lykon Automotive for a few months and could not be happier with the service, prices, and work done!! They are so attentive, knowledgeable, give extremely fair pricing compared to others, and go above and beyond honestly :) They took my car in after an accident and took great care of it. They were able to locate and immediately fix the funny sound my tire was making that no one else seemed to notice, and they also were able to schedule me in so fast for my inspection! Highly recommend :)
