We had an amazing time on the Kuaui Sea Tours raft tour with Hailey (crew) and Josh (captain). We saw whales, turtles and spinner dolphins and the most beautiful scenery of the Napali coast. Josh drove us through the sea caves and up close to the waterfall. Definitely recommend this tour! Way more adventurous than the catamaran. Thanks for the best time!
The Lucky Lady delivers! Whales, Cliffs, and Great Service
We booked the Na Pali Coast tour with Kauai Sea Tours, and it exceeded every expectation. We headed out on the Lucky Lady catamaran with Captain Greg at the helm.
The coastline itself is otherworldly—the massive green sculptured cliffs look like something out of a movie. While we were heading to the coast, we were lucky enough to encounter whales! Watching them breach against the backdrop of the Pacific was a stunning highlight we weren't expecting to see so clearly.
Captain Greg was a wonderful skipper. He navigated the waters smoothly and shared great insights about the island. The boat was clean, comfortable, and provided plenty of room to take in the views. If you want a first-class experience on Kauai, this is it. Mahalo, Captain Greg!
We took the 6:45am Napali Snorkeling Tour. Since our hotel was in Wailua, we were on the road by 545am and made it by 630am. Luckily, theres a really nice cafe next to the tour office where we got coffee and breakfast burritos. The tour starts at 7am with rules and safety, followed by crew introductions. About 15 minutes out we were already at the snorkeling point. I thought snorkeling would be clloser to the afternoon, but for this tour, it happened at 730am. About 50% of the group went snorkeling while the rest lounged around the boat and got to see sea turtles. After 45+ minutes of snorkeling we were on our way to the the Napali Coast. The captain reminded us that despite the sunny weather, there would be some southern swells, and that it would be an "adventure." An adventure it was! For 1-2 hours of sailing, we got caught in some choppy swells. About 40% of passengers were holding on to buckets! Seasickness is REAL! Buy some dramamine at the tour office for $7 and take it before boarding. Despite my partner being seasick and hurling in a bucket, I was fine because of the medicine. Once we got to the Napali Coast it was breathtaking. There was a lot of sea mist that gave the ridges a ghostly affect and it didnt help that the morning sun was behind it, casting a lot of dark shadows. Nonetheless, it was beautiful! Thats the thing about nature, its unpredictable. You just gotta find the beauty in everything. We also saw whales and dolphins, too!
If I could do this trip again, I would take an afternoon of evening cruise when the sun is beaming on the coast rather than behind it.
I would also skip the snorkeling (in winter months) and opt for the sea cave explorations to get a closer view of the cliffs.
Take your DRAMAMINE!!!
The staff and captain were all so wonderful! Lots of aloha! Lots of food, snacks, sandwiches, drinks, and alcohol provided.
Take your dramamine! Hahaha.
