I'm very grateful for how quickly they responded. They showed up exactly on time and were fully prepared. Steven, the technician, handled the door balancing perfectly and explained what they were doing. I highly recommend this company for anyone needing this kind of service.
Super friendly technicians who made the whole process easy. They showed up exactly on time and were fully prepared. Steven, the technician, handled the door balancing perfectly and explained what they were doing. I highly recommend this company for anyone needing this kind of service.
Clearly not a real company - just look at the awful AI-generated photos - they don't even spell the "business" name correctly. Also, the 5-star reviews are from an overwhelming number of people with names that are not from the Dover, NH area. I have lived here all my life. Scam!
Actual photo of the location, taken 2/28/2025, shows that it's a child care facility, and was formerly a Jewish Temple.
I called Jim Garage Door due to a broken torsion spring and lifting cable. I figured they were local due to the 603 area code. I also did a bit of research on the cost of the spring and the cables. Average repair by a professional was in the $300 range, parts and labor included. I spoke to a woman in the office first. She said someone would contact me for more details so I could get an estimate. She also said there was no cost for a technician to come out to assess the job. Late morning I received a call from a 617 area code number from a guy that was very difficult to understand. He was 30 minutes away. My wife was home and able to let him in. I tried to call him back but he would not answer. I called my wife and she gave him her phone. He had just given her prices and it was absurd. He said the single spring was $350, the lifting cables were $200 and then the labor was going to be another $150 to $200. I told him that was crazy and said NO WAY. He then insisted that she pay a $49.95 visit fee. I had to remind him that his office said there was no charge. He got so angry that he tossed my wife's phone at her. Jumped in his van and burned rubber out of the driveway and down the street. I later called their office again and spoke to a receptionist. He asked if I would like a manager to call me. I said "absolutely", but I never received a call. This company is trying to catch people unprepared and hit them with insane pricing. I gave them one star because I couldn't leave a zero. My advice, Steer clear !
P.S. Found an actual local guy that did the job for $275. He even gave my other garage door a tune up at no charge !
Daniel was on time Tuesday and did the installation himself. He did an excellent job explaining every nuance about the door and the work he was performing. He even took The brace off of our old door and installed it on our new door to make it more sturdy and long lasting. He was very professional and extremely efficient. We had told Jim Garage Door that our homeowners association required a certain brand of paint for the garage door. Their painter, Ron, came by our house and picked up an empty can to ensure that he purchased the exact required paint. Ron did a great job painting the door and trim and caulked where it was needed. It looks great! A fantastic job was done by all and we highly recommend this company,
