I’m a licensed plumbing contractor who purchased an Onyx shower system here. I was not subcontracted by Handyman — they were the material supplier only. During the job, the homeowner told me Handyman referred them to another installer from a referral list at the front counter, and another contractor was brought in mid-project. Whether management “personally spoke” to the homeowner or not, the result was the same: a supplier’s referral process inserted another contractor into an active installation, creating confusion and forcing me to step away to protect liability. Also worth noting: the referral list shown in-store included only a small number of licensed plumbers, which is a concern for plumbing-related shower work.
