These folks are absolutely the best!! I bought a ring at C&H Rauch years ago and since they left Goldsmith has taken care of my ring!! They are always so friendly and they always make sure you are happy with the work that is done. HIGHLY recommend!!!
I had two diamonds replaced and asked to have the prongs checked. I also asked if I should have the band reinforced as it looked thin. The jeweler said prongs and band were fine, so I paid and left.
I then lost another diamond and the band broke. I reluctantly went back and asked to have the repairs made. He did a sloppy job repairing the band and didn't even replace the missing diamond! So he replaced that while I waited. He blamed it on the fact that the girl who put it in the bag didn't check it. Really? You don't check your own work? And blame others? He told me I looked disappointed. I told him I wasn't happy with the work he did on the band. He said he could try to fix it but the gold might run up and cover the seam. Too late. He had already covered most of the seam so I declined. I didn't want any more damage done. I asked again if he checked all the prongs. He said they looked good. The ring didn't even look polished. I asked for a discount but that wasn't happening.
Two days later I lost another diamond.
As you can see from the close up picture, there are diamonds with partially missing prongs, broken prongs, and no prongs at all.
So after spending a few hundred dollars in total repairs, I now have to go to a professional jeweler and spend even more to have the whole ring worked over. I don't even live in Bowling Green I traveled from out of town, as our town does not have a jeweler.
I can't speak for both jewelers but the one who worked on my ring both times obviously does not take pride in his work and/or is lazy or burnt out. Maybe it's time to retire.
Sent my wedding bands in to get resized. Paid around 300-400 dollars. The ring looks badly. It has a crack that goes down the center. The work is not smooth. It looks bad. It would cost another 400 dollars to get it fixed by a ring company.
Don't send them your valuables there.
