They terrified me. They acted like the top flue tile on my chimney was shattered, and if they removed the cap, they wouldn’t be able to put it back on because everything would fall apart. Later, when I looked at the photos of the top tile, I could see that it was cracked, but not unstable. They should have removed the cap and put their scope down inside for photos. Also, I have a 30 foot camera that connects to my phone that I could’ve let them use. They could’ve put that through the screen without removing the cap to inspect the chimney. They had quickly handed me an Estimate for more than $6000 and then $150 bill for the “inspection”. I asked if they could lower that inspection bill which was Completely unexpected. He said he would take $50 off since they were unable to show me inside my chimney. I had made an appointment for a $200 chimney cleaning. I think James knew 100% what he was expecting to see and going to do when he got out Here. It was all a surprise to me. As I calm down and gather my wits, I realize he gave me an Estimate to fix things he could neither see nor show me. The fear tactic was almost effective. Once I have a real inspection, even if the flu is all that bad, I will not be calling them back.
