10/10 Had My Transmission Fixed In A Timely Manner. My Car Was A vehicle that was very hard to deal with. Very Nice & Understanding People we'll definitely go back and recommend to everyone.
Wished we could do 3 reviews. They've been earned. Reviews 1 & 2: Cottman did transmissions on a Ford Explorer about 20 years ago, and within the last year on a Buick Lucerne. Both with about 200,000, 300,000 miles, each 10 to 15 years old. When the vehicles were returned to us, one of the comments made was that the 15 year old 300,000 mile vehicle drove like new. That says a lot. The fact their cost was just over half of others businesses quotes, how much more needs to be said. But that's not the end of it, or the most impressive. Review 3: An older little car having transmission issues owned by single mom with two kids. Another shop want... Wished we could do 3 reviews. They've been earned. Review 3: An older little car having transmission issues owned by single mom with two kids. Another shop wanted $2,200. The car was worth less than that, but she wasn't ready to throw in the towel or try to figure out how to handle the hassle and cost of finding another vehicle. Because of our experience she took it to Cottman. One of the owners Ryan took a look at it in their parking lot, put some transmission fluid in, she never had another problem. Would be challenging to find another business with work 20 years apart on vehicles making them like new, and a third where the business was able to do something for free in a matter of minutes saving someone $2000 on a repair that wasn't really needed. Obviously, we've told a lot of people over the last couple decades about Cottman and the family that owns the business. Seeing they were not afraid to respond to people on Google who needed further assistance says quite a bit. They fix issues as needed. The proof is in the pudding.
Zero stars. Never NEVER come to this scam of a shop. They "rebuilt" our transmission, didn't assemble it correctly - trans filter dropped off causing us to have it towed to them for re-repair (they didn't cover cost of tow even though it was in warranty). Vehicle still did not function correctly, returned a third time under warranty to get it fixed and was told "a little leaking is normal for an old transmission and there is nothing wrong". After a year of saving to get it fixed at a reputable shop we found that it had loose bolts, missing friction material, most rebuild parts were still original, damaged parts that should have been replaced,... They refused to even work with us on compensation or even talk to us (went in person twice, sent TWO physical letters to them and got no replies or calls) - horrible place, never ever come here.
