Our insurance company recommended this place to fix a leaking pvc pipe above our shower in the basement. The plumber Troy Bakker inspected the pipe then went to his truck to call then insurance company to get us approved. He said the insurance company denied us because the pipe was installed incorrectly. We called the insurance company and they said Troy Bakker told them that the pipe was installed incorrectly. Do not do business with this company. I feel as though the guy didn't want to do the work and still get paid the $75 fee just to come out to inspect.

Troy did an excellent job from start to finish with diagnosing and fixing our AC when it wouldn’t turn on. I was able to reach him immediately with a phone call and he arrived at our home within a couple hours. He thoroughly examined our thermostat wiring and the machinery in our utility closet (and was also ready to climb thirty feet to the AC unit on the roof if needed) to determine that the fault lay with the thermostat itself. He had a new thermostat ready in his truck and installed it within minutes. He was professional and helpful throughout the entire encounter and gave us some advice for future maintenance of our appliances as well. We will be sure to call him again with any future issues!

We evaluated a number of local firms to install a new heating and hot water system in a relative’s older home in DC and choose Comfort Heating due to a combination of consultation, expertise, recommendations and a fair price. Troy Bakker is a personable, friendly expert in his system recommendation of a system and is a considerate, respectful person in helping deal with the special needs family member living in this the house that had fallen into disrepair over a number of years. Troy identified several types and brands of heating systems, including the one we had researched – the Navien NFC-H Combi-Boiler, the one we ultimately choose. The Navien is a very high efficiency combination tankless hot water heater and hot water boiler for the whole house heating, and perfectly sized for the small space we had available for installation. Removal of the old equipment and installation of the new equipment was fast, clean and efficient. The plumbing job itself was a work of art! Highlights Troy’s craft and expertise. Once the Heating system was installed and operational, we discovered several other plumbing services were necessary – replacement of a toilet, running a water supply line, replacement of a very old water valve/diverter in the bath tub, replacement of a leaky valve – all the additional work was conducted quickly and with a minimum of downtime. The work was professionally conducted, Troy is respectful of the residents and very easy to work with. The overall results fully met our expectations, and all conducted at a fair, reasonable price. We will without hesitation recommend Troy and Comfort Heating & Cooling in all boiler repair/replacement and general plumbing work needs in the DC area. Jim & Claire V.
