Being a retired 68-year old widower, & a proud 11-year veteran on a fixed income.......Jack Hogreb worked with me to create a beautiful "tub to a walk-in shower conversion" (which is certainly more convenient for us old geezers)! π The 2-day installation & craftsmanship were impressive......I still can't believe what I see everytime I step into my new shower! So much more beautiful when you compare the BEFORE and AFTER pictures.......wow! Jack & his crew are a real class act, I highly recommend "BATHROOM EXCELLENCE" to those who are seeking such a project as mine!
Ok this will be an honest assessment of craftsmanship, attention to detail, service, ect for Bathroom Excellence from my personal experience. This is from the POV of the tenant actually having to live with the entire process and final product. It will be rather lengthy but bare with me. I take it very seriously when consumers invest their hard earned money into these type of expensive projects, and the companies who offer these services HAVE TO BE AT THE ABSOLUTE TOP OF THEIR GAME TO COMPETE FOR YOUR MONEY$$. Again, this will be lengthy to give you absolute detail of the entire process. Grab your popcorn and a beer. Initially, the project was to start on a Friday but no one showed up. I made sure to wait around so that I could greet the crew myself and go over a few things with them as it relates to parking and concerns about dust and debris covering other parts of the apartment. I even put out NO PARKING signs and cones to make sure they had plenty of space for their vehicles and rollout dumpster, if needed. I had to call Bathroom Excellence and the landlord myself to figure what was going on. Apparently there were internal issues with personal that needed to be settled, so the project was scheduled for the following Monday. Moving on, that Monday rolls around and the crew shows up a little after 9am. I delayed my personal departure for work, again to meet the crew. Victor and Benacio couldn't have been nicer fellas even with a language barrier. We both ended up downloading translator apps that helped us a great deal to communicate. That was awesome. Again, great guys and they worked hard. They had everything torn out and the wall knocked out within 2 days. As the week progressed things seemed to be on schedule. I could see when the guys arrived and left for the day through my cameras out back. They usually arrived around 9am daily and stopped around 6pm. I drive OTR so I was able to be gone a few days while they worked. So there was no need for me to get a hotel while they worked until the weekend. The property owner agreed to go half with me on my hotel accommodations which was pretty awesome as I was displaced for a moment because of the wrk being done. Water and electricity were cut to run lines and do the work. Along with the toilet being removed. Again, during the week everything progressed just fine. It was toward the weekend things got kind of dicey. I had accessed being displaced Wednesday thru Saturday so I booked a hotel locally for those days. Friday and Saturday I noticed the guys disappeared for a couple of hours both days so that extended the work into the following Monday in which no one showed up until 5pm on that Monday. When I called the Foreman (Eloy) he informed me that one of the guys wife had pregnancy complications and that was the reason for the delay. Again, I HAD TO CALL THEM. No one bothered to inform me at all. Now this is a Monday and I'm just getting off work to arrive at 5pm and see these guys just getting started. Needless to say I was pissed and the guys knew it. I gave them 1hour to finish up and they had to go. I was tired, ready to shower, and relax. Moving on, Tuesday rolls around and I'm able to see first hand things that were missed, forgotten, ect. So I reached out to Eloy again and he had the guys come back out to do finishing work. Which I kind of expected. One major thing was the lack of sub floor put down to make sure thee floor was solid. It wasn't. It was airy and spongey when you walked on it. The vanity was leaking, light switch cover missing, the wooden dowels to hold the glass shelves for the vanity were missing, and some other minor cosmetic things. The paint job was subpar but ok. No attention to detail. Because of the design there were light deprived areas in the bathroom, so I ordered 2 rechargeable ceiling mount lights. One over the vanity and one in the shower and let me tell you...those additions really made the bathroom pop wayyyyyyyy more. They actually looke like recessed lighting at an angle. I'm impressed with those.
