APA Total Care Care of Gilbert (yes, Car is misspelled on their invoices, estimates and other media) — Missing the obvious things is a 🚩Red Flag. Should they be fixing you car? UPDATE 07-04-2025: I added another snapshot (pic) of the owner's reply which shows what kind of people you are dealing with at APA Total Care Care. The continued lying is shameful to say the least. STAY CLEAR! Let's be clear, I went to APA to diagnose a "refrigerant leak" already confirmed by Toyota and the smell in the cabin. Visit date: 07-01-2025 7:30am -- Watch BOTH videos! 1. Toyota’s prior A/C service visit ignored ◦ I arrived with a Toyota dealer receipt showing an evacuate/recharge plus UV dye to trace a refrigerant leak. ◦ Service adviser Mike glanced at my receipt and immediately bad‑mouthed Toyota, claiming “they just don’t want to do the work.” 🚩Red Flag #1. 2. Put gauges on it? “Not yet.” ◦ Several hours after dropping off my Tundra, Mike phoned: “Your cabin filter is so plugged we can’t even blow compressed air through it.” ◦ Strange—airflow from the vents worked when I drove in. ◦ I asked, “Did you at least put gauges on it?” Answer: “Not yet.” 🚩Red Flag #2. 3. The upsell text blast ◦ Their automated inspection report listed a laundry list of unrelated repairs—but still no A/C leak diagnosis. ◦ Recommendation: evacuate the system and add UV dye—for $151.73 (about 50% more than the dealer just charged me). ◦ I reminded Mike that dye was already present. His reply: “Toyota lied to you; there’s no dye in there.” 🚩Red Flag #3 4. Video proof to the contrary ◦ My less than 30‑second video (linked below) shows the bright UV dye APA claims isn’t there and documents fresh damage they caused when looking for it. Bottom line: In my opinion—APA Total Car Care of Gilbert either doesn’t understand basic A/C diagnostics or deliberately stages phantom problems to upsell. If you value honest work, take your vehicle—and your wallet—elsewhere. Receipts and unedited video available on request. I gave them a 2 star because the cabin air filter is dirty.
