Alabama Reweaving & Alterations

I was excited to find this alteration shop after recently moving from Arizona, especially because of the positive reviews and how conveniently close it was to my home. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. On my first visit, the shop was closed for the day with no sign posted, and the phone number on the door did not belong to the business. I returned the following day and immediately felt unwelcome. While the older woman in the back seemed kind, the younger woman at the front was dismissive and uninviting. I tried to overlook this, understanding that customer service can be demanding, but it became more noticeable when she warmly greeted the customers who entered behind me. During the fitting, she handled my gown aggressively—pinning roughly and even shoving my arm—while speaking to me with visible irritation. I’m a slim girl I didn’t see a reason for it. She repeatedly explained issues with the strapless dress that I was already aware of, which is the reason I brought it in for alterations. Ex.) “The dress is falling off of you because the material is heavy & it has beads”— I just listened & said yes ma’am. I barely wanted to talk when I noticed her mood. When I answered her questions politely, her tone remained hostile. When asked about my event date, I explained it was two weeks away and out of state. Despite this, she scheduled my pickup for the same day as my event, which raised concern. The following day, she called with the alteration quote, which was higher than expected. While the cost itself was not the issue, the overall treatment I received made me decide not to move forward. I politely thanked her for her time and went to pick up my dress. When I arrived, the older woman seemed confused as to why the gown had not been altered, and the younger woman responded to her in their language with an aggressive tone. I remained polite, thanked them again, and left. I’ve never had an experience like this before. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

I had the most wonderful experience with my wedding gown alterations, and I cannot recommend this team enough. From start to finish, they were kind, professional, and truly cared about making everything perfect. When they finished altering my dress and I saw how perfectly it fit, I couldn’t help but tear up. It was everything I had hoped for and more. They truly brought my dream dress to life. What meant the most, though, was the care and love they put into the special touches. They sewed two hearts inside my gown—one made from my mom’s wedding dress, and the other from my now-husband’s mother’s dress, who has passed away. It was such a meaningful tribute, and they treated it with the deepest respect and attention. Their work was flawless, and their hearts were just as beautiful.
