On the coldest day/night of this year, a maintenance breaker on the air handler unit failed and shut my main floor heat pump down. I called Richard at 8:00 am; he arrived at about 9:30; bypassed the breaker, restoring power to the unit. They returned the following Tuesday and replaced the failed breaker. I couldn’t ask for better service. Alabama Cooling and Heating are competent, efficient, and have always provided good service
I gotta tell U, I had four or five Heat Pump estimates and AL H&C’s Richard came in with the best estimate by several thousand dollars. Richard was absolutely fantastic and his technicians Jefferey and Michael were as well. They did what they said they would do and I couldn’t be happier. I went with the 5T Trane XV18, which I consider the Cadillac of home heat pumps. I had a grossly undersized 4T Carrier installed when I had my home built. My bad. I failed to do my homework before deciding which heat pump to go with. My home, at just a tic under 2800 sq ft with massive ceiling heights throughout, was oversized for the overly small Carrier. For example, the house was cold on the MBR side by about 4-5 degrees during cold weather. I like to froze every winter since, but now that cold weather had set in the past few days the house is near equal temperatures on both ends. Obviously, I can’t say enough about Richard’s company and his highly skilled technicians. I’ll leave you readers with this. Get your estimates and then let Richard take a look and give his estimate. It’s free. Nothing to lose except your time. I think you’ll be happy with what you hear. And lastly, go with the Trane. Who knew a heat pump could actually pump out warm air. My old one only pumped air. Good luck and thank you for reading.
Bought my upstairs unit in 2024 to replace one with a bad heat exchanger. Jeff and another guy put it in. Was supposed to get 2 free service cleanings but only received 1. This year finally got my 2nd service. My down stairs unit stopped heating so taylor worked on it but was unable to figure it out. So another person came out to replace the pressure switch. Found out it had a clogged line. ( so no new switch) worked on it for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Got it up and running. Paid 59.00 was unaware that richard was no longer the owner. Didn't even leave the new owner contact info on me.
New owner has been very helpful with my issues.
Thanks
