Appreciate the communications regarding holiday schedules and general delays. Truck drivers are friendly and do a good job with keeping the area clean when dumping bins. Calling WM and dealing with customer service is a nightmare! I swear each agent can perform only one task and then has to send you on to the next agent for the next task. I can tell WM silos their people and operates in a ‘stay in your own lane’ directive which is frustrating for customers and probably their agents as well as I’m sure once someone has been transferred seven times, the original agent who took the call then receives a poor review which wasn’t their fault at all. Pricing just keeps creeping up higher and higher.
Service is unreliable. I have auto pay on so I know every 25th of the month itll pay my bill for me. However they have missed payments and then charged me on a different day like the 6th of the next month, with a warning only the same day they charged me. They require you to make new container requests even when your can is very obviously damaged. I canceled my service with them and I cannot believe it but it cost me $105 which is an absurd amount. I will never be using waste management again even if my life depended on it. Id rather spend a little more each month to support a company who has respect for us and our land. Id go so far as to say this is an actual scam of a company who should have no customers working with them. Getting my cans when I first signed up was free with the service which was nice. But I didnt realize it was a big trap, because having my bins picked up costs 75 dollars plus the 30 dollars for them to pick up my garbage until the service officially ends and because I used a debit card and didnt go to the company themselves I guess and slap the 100 dollars on their front desk they charge me an extra "convenience fee" of a dollar and some change. How about you do me the convenience of shutting your bum company down and giving all your employees a nice severance pay.
Extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Waste Management especially since they are twice the price as the other competitors in the area. After finding out I had been forced into a contract when they bought out Advanced Disposal I was forced to continue service until my contract was up 11/01/2025. As the end of the contract got closer I had been contacted by Austin Pfannenstiel in an attempt to lower my rates so I would renew my contract, after telling him multiple times that there was no way that I would ever continue doing business with WM he finally accepted that I would be cancelling service.
09/19/2025 I mailed my written cancellation form requesting to stop service effective 11/01/2025 and to remove their receptacle from my property to the WM office and started service effective 11/01/2025 with a different garbage provider.
11/07/2025, The dumpster was still on my property, and I was sent a bill for service from 11/01/25-11/30/25.
I then called the customer support line where after being on hold for 30 minutes while someone tried to figure out what was going on told me that they never got the cancellation form, BUT could see the notes where Austin Pfannenstiel noted "Probable termination 11/01/25"
I was then told that because they "Never received" the termination letter they automatically renewed my contract and nobody could give me an answer why someone couldn't figure this out and get this cancelled because even in their notes it shows plans to cancel effective 11/01/25.
I then asked to speak with someone higher up and was given a phone number to Francisco who didn't answer when I had first called but attempted to call back at 3:59pm on 11/13/2025 and stated in his message that he was leaving at that time.
Since then I have called twice and left messages and still no response back. If this is what WM considers good customer service I will never understand how they keep a single customer.
