Stormy Gordon
If I could give ZERO stars, I would! I had brakes, rotors, and tires replaced here in late August for around $1,200. My vehicle started making a loud grinding noise and was not stopping properly, which is a serious safety issue. I took it back to Tupelo Tire and Wheel in February to have them check the work they had just done months prior. First they told me it was hub bearings, so I paid another $515 to replace those. The noise never went away. I brought the vehicle back again and was told it just needed grease. The noise continued. I returned again and was told it was a rock. The grinding noise was still there and, on top of that, my pre-collision system started malfunctioning after I left their shop, which also affected cruise control and traction control. After multiple failed attempts by this shop to diagnose the issue, I finally took my vehicle to Toyota for a full diagnostic, which cost me another $215 out of pocket. Toyota provided photo and video evidence showing that the brakes and rotors that Tupelo Tire and Wheel installed only six months earlier were already ruined. I was told the damage was caused by excessive grease being put on the brake components, contaminating the brakes and rotors. When I contacted the owner, he apologized and said he would make it right at no charge, so I brought the vehicle back to them trusting they would correct their mistake. Instead, he tried to charge me labor anyway and then claimed he had called Toyota and they told him there was nothing wrong with the vehicle, which is completely false. To make matters worse, the owner and mechanics were extremely rude and dismissive, even laughing about the grinding noise, saying it “wasn’t much of a noise,” despite the fact that the issue was serious enough for Toyota to document the damage. Between the $1,200 initial repair, $515 for unnecessary hub bearings, and $215 diagnostic, this situation has cost me nearly $2,000, multiple trips back and forth, and weeks of dealing with a vehicle that was not safe to drive. They refused to take responsibility for their work, were dishonest about contacting Toyota, and treated a customer’s legitimate safety concern like a joke. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle somewhere else. If you value your money, safety, and sanity, take your vehicle literally anywhere else. Everything I’ve stated here is fully documented with photos, video, and a Toyota inspection report.
