I wanted a new laptop with some hardware modifications and loaded software. They were great. They are very knowledgeable and helped me with the modifications and software decisions. They completed the work when they said they would. They were very reasonably priced. I liked working with individual professionals as opposed to buying off the shelf in a box store. I will definitely go back to them with my next computer project!
My daughter's college laptop screen got broken and we took it here to get fixed. They installed an incompatible screen and disabled the Iris Xe driver in order to make the display work OK, but this made it so you could not hook up an external monitor and have that work, which we didn't find out till quite a bit later. So when the Iris Xe driver is enabled to make an external display work, the screen on the laptop has vertical lines that make it impossible to work with (see photo attached). I would never take another computer to this company again to get fixed or buy anything new from them.
Went in for a broken Mac screen, which they fixed, but they ended up breaking the front camera on the Mac. Took the computer back in and they “claimed” they fixed it so I pick it up and checked the camera and it was still not working. They charged us and still never fixed the camera even though we showed them it was still broken. Ended up breaking my camera and making us pay for it too.
Very happy with Stone Computers. Michael, Carl, and that wonderful woman who runs the show! Thank you! I bought a desktop that saved me hundreds of dollars over Best Buy. Thank you! Miles & Crew do a great job & it is easy to get followup advice - not that you will need it. Whenever I go into Best Buy, I worry that I am steered to a computer that the sales rep gets a kickback for selling. Pretty sure that is what happened last time, and we have suffered for years for it. Pretty sure Miles won't let that happen. Glad we went local. Thanks, again, Miles. What a difference! My wife's laptop was impossibly slow (thanks Worst Buy for steering us in the wrong direction!). Michael cleaned up the problem areas and installed some inexpensive upgrades. The results were astounding. Very fast! Better than expected and for a very reasonable cost.
