I highly recommend Simply Right Handyman! Eran replaced a bathroom fan motor and installed several ceiling fans/light fixtures. He is very professional, skilled, efficient and provided excellent work at a reasonable rate. Outstanding customer service! Eran really went out of his way to get what was needed for the job (i.e. arranging for/picking up replacement parts and arranging for use of an extension ladder/truck). Could not have asked for better service!
Contacted in August via email. Gave full list of items I wanted a quote on. We are now in November & I've never heard from them.
Eran installed trim in an unfinished bedroom and did a great job. He was one of the lowest rates in the area and was able to start within a couple weeks when our original handyman kept putting us off for two months. There was some residue left over on the floor that we couldn’t get up, but nothing excessive. Communication of arrival times and status could have been better, but overall a great service.
Basically constant problems from the start. We hired him to build ~6 steps off the deck to the yard. He told us at the quote he had travel planned, so would have to schedule around that. Then he proceeded to plan his travel in the middle of our job, leaving his stuff and all materials spread around an area of the yard for a while while he was out. Would have been better to just do it all after the trip given he knew we had small kids and use the back yard frequently. The steps had many technical problems. One being that upon 'completion' the railing was completely out of code -- uneven and too large of gaps between the vertical rails to the point my kids could easily fall through it. I had to ask for this to be fixed and he said he thought it 'looked better' the way he did it. He did ultimately fix it though. The final version does have at least one banister with a screw sticking out a quarter of an inch not completely drilled in. Also, the cement pad was completely cracked through after completion. He tried to convince me that the it was just the front/visible portion that was cracked, and he would cut it off and replace just the front half, but did not understand why I was not convinced it was not entirely compromised given we could not see the slab where the steps were anchored. I had to specifically tell him I found the quality unacceptable and the whole pad needed to be replaced for him to agree. After telling him the completely cracked pad needed replaced he said that he would come back when he had time, said he was busy for a month or so, which is ok, but it has been well over a month I have heard zero follow up from him. My impression is that he has no experience or qualification for doing any size of cement work, even a small 3'x3' pad at the bottom of steps. In addition I found the attention to detail and craftsmanship to be generally poor. It seemed some of the top railing was miscut and instead of correcting the cut he just included a shim between the deck railing and the stair railing. The edges of the railing were not sanded upon completion leaving sharp edges for little kids to run into. Just small attention to detail like that that I think is completely unacceptable. In general I found his communication to be very poor, it was frequently unclear when he would show up until he just showed up right after texting. I will say the quote process was quite seamless, and I enjoyed that. He was very respectful and polite when talking and aside from leaving material around my yard during his travel was respectful of my space and asking up front what I wanted. TLDR: Workmanship was poor, first version was out of code, cement pad cracked, disagreed that the cement pad needed to be replaced, never followed up after agreement to replace the cement pad give well over a month.
Eran fixed a range hood that needed to be rehung after water damage to some drywall. He did a great job for us, and was very reasonably priced. The range hood is not sturdier than before and the drywall repair was done really well. Would highly recommend and will use his services again in the future.
