We went on a Sunday and a lot if stores were closed. the mall barely had people in it. The theater is nice and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Plenty of stores to shop for anything. A few restaurants including a sushi spot and a few spots to get desserts as well. The movie theater is very nice especially if you upgrade to elite VIP seating! Also has a good size arcade with cool games and prizes.
Shawnee mall, like all surviving malls, is hanging on by a thread. But for what and where it is, it's doing alright. It was clean, comfortable temperature, the plants are kept up well. There are a lot of empty stores but they have a Bath and Body Works, Shoe Dept., Vintage Stock, Hot Topic, The Buckle, Claire's, Journey, Mrs. Fields, the movie theater, the rolled ice cream place, Sakura, a steakhouse, an arcade, a Mathis Bros store, Ross, a few other clothing stores, that big sports store, and some types of stores. I didn't notice if the candy store was still there. They did have a Zoltar fortune telling machine and I cannot pass one and not stop. They have the animals that you can ride (okay, one was Santa Claus and that's kind of weird. Who wants to ride a Santa like a horse?). I digress, the mall is okay. You're not going to find a vast wonderland of shopping, but it's good enough for a small trip. The parking lot is an absolute nutso bananas nightmare though. Sheesh. Happy shopping!
Under construction because of tornado that came through. At the moment it only has one entrance. Two entries for the restrooms. Not every store is open, but they still have a wide selection of stores to go through. Very clean on the inside. Not a wide range of restaurants though. I didn't see a play area for children, but they did have a few coin kid rides. They have alot of kiosks, a massage area, and pay massage chairs. They have an arcade, They also have a theater under construction for re-opening. It use to be an AMC. A fairly new company called Golden Ticket Cinemas has taken over. I've been to their theaters before and they usually have reclining seats in their auditoriums. Those are the best! I agree with other reviewers as far this mall needs toy stores and attractions for the young customers. Outside of mall is not most appealing, but I blame that on the tornado that came through.
