I have an older boiler and I do my best to work on my own equipment when feasible. I ran in to an issue i didnt understand and i called strogens to have it diagnosed. The technician seemed unsure of himself and somewhat lost. He ended up saying he'd reccomend an entirely new boiler and hot water heater because of the age of the system (reasonable recommendation, it is old and i expect it from a service company roughly $19k quote from a different salesman) he goes on to say he could fix the current boiler with a new gas valve at roughly $1k for parts & labor. I go back in after he left because he seemed so unsure and find a popped fuse (the only fuse in the whole boiler)! Replaced the $3 part and we're up and running. Seems like the most basic thing to check and the charge me $100 not to mention they try to charge me over $1k (and it would have been a week waiting for parts, i'm sure). I called the office to let them know but they didnt feel my complaint warranted any action. I know its just a hundred bucks but I feel slighted. The second star was because the tech showed up on time and employed only moderately pushy sales techniques.
