Roofing Leprechaun

EDIT: We are in the process of having the mess Brooks left on our roof ripped off and replaced by someone who knows what they are doing. That means the materials and labor we spent 13 k on was all for nothing. As well, Brooks hacked into the lead flashing around the base of our chimney, leaving it vulnerable to leaks and also in need of replacing with the proper materials. As our current contractor was working, he noticed at least “two packs” of cigarette butts under the metal roofing, some of which weren’t even stubbed out. “I don’t know how this didn’t catch on fire” was what he said. We are taking photographic evidence of everything. DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON. Learn from my grievous mistake. I hired Brooks to put a metal roof on our home, based on his responsiveness and quality work fixing a roof leak. Big, big mistake. My metal roof would be more appropriate on a 1970s backwoods outhouse, and it is the talk of the neighborhood and deeply embarrassing. It looks like the metal was cut with a rusty can opener. There are numerous gaps and lifted parts and wavy edges. It is a disaster. It took 32 long, uncommunicative days for him to complete the absolute worst mess of a metal roof this side of Hell. And we have winter to look forward to, with it peeling off like a tin can and ice heaving under the unsealed and jagged edges.His response: “Whatever. I moved to Florida. Oh, well.” No response to my texts, by the way….this was a response to someone else who texted him about the mess he left. Best of all: he left a massive, unsealed spot around the stink pipe that resulted in a roof leak that went through my bathroom floor straight into my kitchen ceiling, causing water damage and costing even more money. We spent 13k in good faith and based on his assurances that he knew what he was doing, and on good reviews. Glad we could fund his move to Florida, though.
