My experience touring Redwood Obetz was excellent. The staff was very professional, welcoming, and helpful. The community is clean, quiet, and well maintained. Had a great experience with Matt our maintenance guy. He came to repair the porch ceiling sidling on one of the windiest days this year. Thanks to Matt's responsiveness by pairing the siding we were able to enjoy the rest of our day not being concerned about the wind and cold blowing through the rafter and increasing our electric bill.
Huge shout out to Amanda, Jessica, and Matt! Thank you for always being so helpful and supportive during our time at Redwood. We only moved because we purchased a home otherwise, we would’ve happily stayed. You all were awesome!
Living at Redwood Obetz was overall a pretty good experience. Things were especially well ran the last few years with Alex and Ronda but has went downhill since. We signed up to go month to month with our lease while looking for a house. We ended up being able to move out at the end of our original lease term and I called the office and was told if we left when our lease ended instead we would just have to pay pro rated rent for a period of days for not providing enough notice and could avoid the month to month lease fee. The office was radio silent during our move out and I actually called them to make sure we weren’t missing anything and they said they forgot to schedule our move out walk through. Which probably wouldn’t have happened if I didn’t call? After moving out we received a bill with a $500 month to month fee. I called the office for clarification and was told that seemed really odd and that they needed to follow up with accounting. After a few days with no answer I called again and was told that the extra $500 was charged since we originally planned to be on a month to month lease (even though we never actually were and rushed moved out at the end of the lease to avoid it) It would have cost less to just keep the apartment for another month. Communication, planning and knowledge of company policies are really lacking.
So I love living at my community, however now I have a different opinion living here. I am a current resident here at Redwood Obetz, and have been for a while. Unfortunately, I am an individual affected by the Government Shutdown, and now not receiving income. Reaching out to the rental office, mgmt advised me that she does not believe there is anything in place. So I sent an email to mgmt inquiring on what options do they have for residents in hardship as this, in response I received a reply stating they will forward my email to regional. Almost a week past, no response, no follow up. Sent ANOTHER email follow up, and to date, still no response. I had to call another Redwood community (Benita at Grove City) to get an answer. She didn't know it, however she went above and beyond to find out the information and followed up with me that there is no action in place for circumstances as this. I shouldn't have to reach out to another community for information when it's effecting the roof over MY head!! I know if Rhonda was here, she would have got that information to me ASAP!!! And it's sad, but now I do not feel comfortable living here, knowing that my home could be in jeopardy of losing due to circumstances out of my control. So just know, they do not have action plans in place for resident effected by a hardship, or unforeseen instances that are out of the residents control as other properties may offer.
