Let me start by saying I have one of the steepest driveways in our neighborhood. Add to that, the slope is down and toward the house. Add to that, it’s wide enough for 2 cars. And that it’s 50-ish years old. As I watched it grow weeds every year and crumble just a little bit more, I knew it was time to replace it. I did all the research. Looked up various contractors. Spoke with friends. Got a couple of estimates. Let me be honest. Widdoes wasn’t the cheapest estimate. But there were several things that convinced me it would be worth the cost: 1. I couldn’t find a single bad review on any site, anywhere. 2. Everyone I spoke with, from friends to contractors, spoke highly of them. 3. Any time I had questions, someone got back to me quickly. With that information, I signed in February. They were planning my driveway for June. With weather delays, it was postponed a few times, but hey – it’s a driveway, not a heart transplant! Marc Cannon and his crew showed up every day even a little before 7 AM. The work was completed in 4 days. The first day was breaking up the old driveway and getting all the rubble out. Several of my neighbors and I watched as Marc maneuvered a backhoe expertly. The crew was great. Everyone knew their jobs, and there was no bickering. At the end of day 4, the whole driveway was poured, and the crew took extra time to add topsoil back in where they had cut away for room. The area was cleaned up thoroughly. They had answered easily 30 different questions from me, explained anything that they were doing, and in general I felt really involved in a process that I know nothing about! So yes, use them. I wish I could give a higher rating.

After having built a two story addition to the back of my existing house, I needed to extend the driveway and re do some existing concrete. R.S. Widdoes & Son was recommended by my neighbor who had used them for his driveway 9 years prior. Marc came right out and we discussed the project. He answered all my questions and helped me design the project with the way I wanted it. After agreeing to the estimate Marc scheduled the job. I was extremely impressed by the employees of this company. To the pride, work ethic, attention to detail and care of my property, these guys are the best in the business. This job was done RIGHT!
