Shawn, the Pella representative came to our home to give us an estimate. He was courteous, professional and detail oriented. He listened to what we were interested in then assessed what would be required. He explained the different options, what the pros and cons of these options were, what we could expect with the finished product. He went over every aspect of color matching, trim around the doors, door hardware, installation, ordering timelines and warranty.
Noel, Lucas and Ethan the installation crew were meticulous, professional, hard working and did an excellent job of explaining what was to be done and what they were doing. After completion they went over their work with us, asked if we had questions and did a superb job of cleaning up the work areas.
Great job and highly recommend them!
So happy with how windows turned out. Just love them. Installer did a terrific job & our salesman Shawn was very knowledgeable. Overall great experience!
At this point we have ordered two Impervia (fiberglass) sliding doors and a 250 series (vinyl) casement window, but not yet received or had them installed, so this review is primarily for the sales process — more particularly, for our interactions with sales rep Eric Sihrer.
Over the course of ten days my wife and I met with Eric four times - three times at our home, and once at the Peoria showroom. I didn’t track times, but I think Eric spent a minimum of eight hours with us, and perhaps closer to twelve.
Now, I like to think that we are nice enough people, but we may also edge a little close to nightmare scenario customers. We were initially looking at replacing two sliding doors we’d had installed over 20 years ago. We vacillated on door color choice, then between-the-glass blinds versus no blinds and argon gas, then internal trim colors for main level versus lower level doors. Then the project grew to include replacing five windows of indeterminate age, with more agonizing over external trim colors, sliding versus casement, tear out versus pocket installation, locking hardware options, and internal trim colors. Then, looking at tax implications of pulling too much money from the 401k this year (I recently retired), and wanting to avoid financing, we throttled back to just the doors.
Throughout all this, Eric provided us with great detail on the relevant options, costs, and code requirements (minimum window size required for bedroom egress), and remained friendly and unfazed (maybe even a little amused) in the face of our dithering over trim color samples.
The main level slider opens into a catio on our deck, which will have to be moved for slider installation. The catio also partially occludes the kitchen window frame, and Eric pointed out it might save us time and effort to have that window done at the same time, rather than have to move the catio twice. We agreed, so added that window back to this year’s project.
We hope to work with Eric on the remaining windows next year!
PS - The showroom is invaluable. It was so important to be able to see options in real life, and to lay hands on the various hardware options, to feel the relative solidity of various window locking mechanisms, etc.
It was two years ago that Eric came to my house for possible replacement windows. I even had Anderson out a month after that for an estimate. At the time we were not ready to proceed with the project but this Spring (2025) we were now ready. Eric left a lasting impression with his friendly personality also his wide range knowledge of the Pella company and the product the Pella offers its customers. I kept Eric’s contact information and even the emails that were sent back and forth. I responded to Eric on our last email communication from the 2 yrs prior and Eric still had my estimate, window measurements and even remembered us and our house. Truly spectacular!
The installers were also very easy to work with and very conscientious and respectful to me and our home. Chris and Jake were great. They ran the shop vac every time they worked in an area inside the house. Very personable and a beautiful job done!
I would use Pella again and would recommend them to anyone who asks.
Very pleasant and easy experience for us.
