On 03/23/26, I reached out to Patterson Roofing to request a quote for replacing the roof on a home we’re preparing to sell. I let Jill know upfront that I would be gathering three quotes, which I believe is a normal approach for a high-cost repair. On 03/25/26, Jill texted to say they would be visiting the property later that day. Around 5:00 pm, I received another message stating that there was a Butler Roofing sign in the yard and that it appeared I had already chosen another company, so they would not be measuring the roof. Since this came as a surprise, I called Jill to clear up the misunderstanding and asked about the sign, as I had not given permission for any signage to be placed and had not yet received a quote from Butler Roofing—so no decision had been made. I explained that, like many homeowners, I always get multiple quotes for major projects, and I would expect most businesses to welcome the opportunity to provide an estimate, even if other companies are also being considered. Unfortunately, despite the clarification, I was told they would not be moving forward with providing a quote due to the sign and that their time had been wasted. I have to say, I also felt like my time had been wasted. I’m still quite puzzled by how the situation was handled. I am leaving this review as a PSA to other homeowners: if you plan on getting more than one quote, you may want to consider other options before calling Patterson Roofing in Shawnee, OK.
