Necessary Technology Computer & Device Repair

Avoid this business at all costs! I left a computer with a broken keyboard with them in August 2025. They said it would require ordering a part from China, so I expected a long repair process. I also expect the basic professionalism of letting me know if it can’t be repaired. I did reach them a month later which is when I discovered the part they ordered didn’t work. Not because they had any plan to update me. They stopped returning calls in September and now after attempting to reach them for months by call and email, I am at wit’s end. Why did I pay $150 to have my computer stolen?

It took 3 days to get someone to pick up a phone. When they did we scheduled pickup for my pc for a Monday morning. That morning came and went, but throughout the day a white, unmarked van kept slowly driving up and down my road. Maybe I'm paranoid but it was unnerving. I tried calling and got no answer. It's now been 2 days since they failed to pickup my pc as arranged and I've received no call, text or email from them with any explanation. I've taken my business elsewhere.

I cannot recommend Necessary Technology highly enough. They’d get 25 stars from me if possible. This is second tile I’ve used them in last few years. I must say, as they expand their business and move from Forest Avenue in downtown Portland to new facilities, I love their pick up and delivery service. They expedited my service knowing I needed it for ZOOM meetings on Tues after Labor Day. It’s back, all info intact, bookmarks restored, and I’m a very happy computer user. I highly recommend Necessary Technology!
