The owner is obviously a nice guy and doing his best, but I can't recommend this shop.
In May, I brought my 4 stroke Honda trimmer and Honda push mower. The mower was fixed in 3 weeks, after I checked in weekly. Eventually, I just showed up and grabbed it for ~140 bucks for the complete package: new carb, filter, cleaning, etc. The mower failed after the second mow, again.
The trimmer was another issue entirely. I didn't see it for over 2 months and eventually (after calling in 6 times minimum) I picked it up with no work done to it whatsoever. "No parts" was the explanation for over 60 days.
2/10, do not recommend.
Took my string trimmer to him to get a new carburetor installed. First one he installed did not work properly. He ordered another one…
It did not work either. He just gave it back to me a said … Don’t know what your going to do with it and walked away. I already paid him the first time. Does not stand behind his workmanship.
I was so happy to find this business. They selll ECHO equipment, including mowers, chainsaws, weedeaters, trimmers, generators, and wood chippers. Now I know where to get my lawnmower blades sharpened. The owner believes in old-fashioned customer service! They service all power equipment from lawnmowers to small compact tractors. Shindaiwa, Scag and Wright Bradley. They have a nice selection of lawnmower blades, chains maintenance kits, and guide bars. Look for the red building on Meadowdale road.
I first came across the business when I wanted to get service on a JD garden tractor I owned. Mountain Top did great work and they actually completed the work 1 day earlier than they had quoted me. I was so impressed with their work that I asked if they sold equipment and learned they did sell Scag and Wright mowers. After a lot of research and many questions, I chose to purchase a Scag Patriot. I was concerned about a zero turn mower because my yard is all hills. It has a 20% grade in the back and 14-16% in the front. Although Mountain Top recommended upgrading the tires due to steep hills I mow, I tried the stock tires first. As long as it was dry, they were fine. I was really happy with my purchase because the quality of the cut was so much better as well as the speed at which I could cut the yard was so much faster. It used to take me 1 hour and 40 minutes to mow and with the Scag, I am done in an hour and the yard looks so much better. I have mowed with 100, 300, and 500 series JD tractors and there is no comparison as to how much better the Scag does. Ultimately, I decided that sometimes I need to mow when the yard is wet so I asked Mountain Top for a suggestion on tires. They were able to get me a new set of tires and they are great!!!! Although I had upgraded the tires on my JD X320, it did not do as well as this Scag when the grass is wet on these hills. I can say the same about the 500 series JD that I had used on my yard before. In summary, I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase, but most importantly, I have complete confidence that if an issue ever arises, I have found a business that will stand by their product and will take care of me!!! I highly recommend Mountain Top as well as considering a Scag if you are looking for a great mowing tractor that is built like a tank.
