About 10 years ago I used L and w. They were great. They worked with me and they weren’t rude. I believe they began 10 years ago. In August I got an error message on my 3-month-old dishwasher. I called them and they said they would call GE warranty. A week later I called them back and they said they were waiting for a call back from GE. This should have been my warning not to have them for my repair, Rather than following up, they were waiting for a call. I did their job and I called GE and set up the details. I also should have known that their web site has not been updated since 2020 in this electronic day and age. Under warranty they came out and the parts were ordered. This trip was supposed to be paid by GE warranty Second trip they came out and found no electricity to the unit. They told me to call an electrician. I paid over 100.00 to find out that the electricity was from a wire in the dishwasher and the electrician did not fix dishwashers. L and W came back out and discovered what he said was a rat chewed wire. He did not install the parts and warranties do not cover what they call infestations. The warranty was void and I was sent a text asking for over 400.00 for parts. I paid that without question that but never got an invoice or actual bill for that. I was also not told that there would be labor charges to come. It is on the invoice dated sept 3 that I just got. I paid 200.00 to have my house treated for rats. I believe L and w came out a total of 6 times, one with the wrong parts and one when the repairman said a whole part was missing. He then discovered the part was actually there but he just couldn’t find it at first. Each time there was another instance of rat damage. My pest control guy said that it looks like old damage. I then get a text 3 months later that says I now owe 611.00 for labor fees. Each trip took him less than 15 minutes and no parts were installed. I texted them to send me some sort of invoice and to tell me what they charge for a service call . I got the invoice dated sept 2. I t showed 4 service calls and a charge of 611.00 for labor but just a total not a break down. . Again, I got this invoice only when I requested it and no explanation of why I did not get it before and how much a service call is. A reputable dealer at some point would have said it is costing too much to repair and you shouldn’t do it. Instead I still don’t have my dishwasher repaired and the total bill so far is 1004.00. There would now be another service call (and I am sure they would find more damage) and they probably would find more parts needed. I was never told about the service calls and labor fees until a text and the sept 3 invoice sent December 3 months later. I still don’t know how much a service call in but I suspect over 100.00. So total for a cheap dishwasher is 1004 to l and w. 100 electrician, 200.00 pest control so a total of 1300 and probably hundreds more for many more service calls.
