I hired Lackey Flooring for a complete floor refinishing project, only 640 square ft, and 3700 dollars.and I am deeply disappointed with the outcome. The company promised a professional job with three coats of polyurethane for a smooth, durable finish, but the results are far from what was advertised. My floors look horrible, and the issues are glaring. First, the polyurethane was applied over visible debris—dust, hair, and small particles are trapped under the finish, creating a rough, unprofessional appearance across multiple rooms. It’s clear no proper cleaning was done before the application. Second, there are numerous unfinished areas, particularly along the edges of every room. These spots were either completely missed or poorly coated, leaving patchy, uneven surfaces that stand out. Under the baseboard heaters throughout we’re not sanded or touched at all. Worst of all, Lackey Flooring failed to deliver on their promise of three coats of polyurethane. After inspecting the floors, it’s evident they applied only one full coat and a partial second coat—barely reaching 1.75 coats. The thin finish lacks the durability and sheen I was promised, and it’s already showing signs of wear in high-traffic areas. The lack of attention to detail, failure to follow through on the agreed-upon service, and overall poor quality have left me with floors that are an eyesore. I would not recommend Lackey Flooring to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality work. Save your money and go with a company that takes pride in their craft. I’ve also tried reaching out several times to try and remedy this situation only to be ignored. My home was built in 2006.See photos below
