Brian is one of the utmost in his profession. He has great attention to detail. He listens to his customers, has great communication skills & works well with his customers. Very knowledgeable in his profession & puts it to hard work. Would recommend any time.
The work was done well but following the project completion we had a small issue present itself. We were in direct contact with Brian and he agreed to return for the repair verbally and via text. After multiple calls/voicmeails and several months we are no longer getting a call back.
I am happy to update this review if we get a callback and if the work gets corrected. For now, I would advise caution in working with Keen given our experience trying to get him to make a small repair that was directly related to their initial work.
I cannot say enough great things about Keen masonry. Brian and Brooke are masters at their craft. They installed a new patio outfront and recently finished a new chimney. I highly recommend them for all of your masonry needs.
We recently hired Keen Masonry to install a floor to ceiling stacked stone fireplace surround in our home. We had a traditional fireplace but wanted to remove the existing slate and mantel and replace it. Finding the stone we wanted was relatively easy, but finding a mason was much harder. We were not impressed with any of the masons we contacted and met with, until we met Brian. We scheduled a consultation online, it was confirmed, and Brian arrived for our appointment on time. We really appreciated the time and thought he put into our project. We quickly decided that he was the mason we wanted. From our first interaction through our last, Brian was professional and communicative. He and Brooks did an amazing job building our fireplace surround. They we respectful of our time and our home. Brian’s attention to detail and knowledge were exceptional. He thought through all off the challenges that were involved in our job and addressed each one. He achieved the exact look we wanted. We are thrilled with our fireplace-- the new focal point of our home! We highly recommend Keen Masonry and will definitely call them again for our next masonry project.
Brian, Brooks, and the Keen Masonry team are true artisans. Our first project with Keen was to eliminate rotten wood and decorative moulding on the front of our home. They removed all the weathered materials and replaced it with brick. Their workmanship and attention to detail was evident throughout the entire process. They even hand cut a beautiful piece of lilac PA flagstone for the keystone at the top of the arch surrounding the foyer window. It was Brian’s idea and goes so well with the Danish brick, we absolutely love it.
Since we were so happy with Keen’s brick work, they were the first call we made for our patio project. It was a big project and we got several bids for due diligence. Keen’s quote was not the cheapest but it was competitive and we knew it was the best option, not just based on past experience, but also through the lengthy discussions we had with Brian about design. His design vision and ability to think through all the details and potential challenges really made the process smooth. He was also creative and thoughtful about managing lengthy supply lead times – in order to eliminate a huge mud pit between our house and newly installed pool, they dug out the site and laid/compacted the stone underlayment while waiting for the pavers. Keen truly went above and beyond (including tasks outside of their primary business) to help us transform our back yard into a stunning pool patio oasis; tackling the patio, replacing bilco doors (including pouring additional concrete to extend the doors), building a sitting wall with piers, installing tons of river rock, installing a mulch bed, planting over 40 flowers/shrubs/grasses, and installing 43 low voltage lights.
