JA Upholstery Dr. LLC (Rockville) did outstanding work restoring my 70+ year-old Contour lounge chair. This piece matters to my family, and Juan treated it like a real restoration, not a quick recover. I brought the chair to Juan only after a law-backed recovery effort to get it back from the dishonest and criminally negligent upholstery owner/primary operator at his business on Hollywood Dr in Glen Burnie, MD 21060. That shop attempted a “restoration” and seriously damaged this heirloom... so badly that I had to involve legal channels to recover it. By the time I handed it to Juan, my expectations were low. He proved me wrong. From pictures of the original condition alone, he rebuilt the chair correctly from the inside out: structural wood repairs, new foam and support, and careful attention to the original geometry and comfort. The finish looks clean and period-appropriate. He also serviced the motor/mechanism (a special model from the 50s), which is exactly the kind of detail many shops avoid or mishandle. What I respected most was his fidelity to the original design. The lines, proportions, tufting pattern... they're all correct. The chair looks right, feels right, and functions the way it should. Communication was clear, turnaround was fast, and the pricing was extremely competitive for the level of craftsmanship. If you have an heirloom piece or a vintage chair you want done correctly, call Juan. JA Upholstery Dr. LLC has earned my long-term business, and I recommend them without hesitation.
