Long Post Warning I was referred by family members to the shop when a few of my dashboard lights turned on. Starting the process off, the shop received the wrong part for repairing, which they didn't realize until after the second appointment that took place a bit after the first (not their fault). The front desk rep. and I communicated the same day once they were notified of the replacement piece being delivered the next day and to see if I could return for installment. I made him aware of my work schedule for the following day to which I was told the process shouldn't take longer than 20-30 minutes assuming it goes smoothly (added on an hour as a precaution that would still give me time to arrive to work on time). During the appointment that I returned for to have the replacement piece installed, I notified the front desk rep. that I had to be at work at a specific time as a reminder. While receiving the replacement, all seemed to be going fine until about an 1.5 hours passed when I was told there was another issue in relation to the original. However, the minor updates I were receiving were NOT followed by consideration for my work commitment. Meaning, there were no options presented to either halt working on my car so I could make it to work on time after so much time had passed OR leave my car overnight, especially because I was told that the removed tire could not be placed back on to drive it. Adding on to the frustration and inconsideration was anxiety because while trying to figure out how to return back from the island, my car was brought to me contrary to being told the tire could not be placed back on so while I was assured it was safe to drive, it was unnerving to be doing so considering what I was told. I ended up missing my shift because too much time had passed to arrive within reason, thus losing out on a night's pay. Fast forward to that Monday, I went back to the shop to speak with the owner who wasn't entirely sure of the situation but was aware of miscommunication and assured me he would personally handle my car. They then had to order ANOTHER part, causing my car to remain there until that Wednesday when I was finally able to pick it up. I appreciate the owner taking accountability for what took place and taking the work on himself but unfortunately, I may be the 1 out of 10 customers who had a not-so-great experience.
