Kevin at Heritage Music Repair did an amazing restoration and relacquer job on my Olds Super Recording trumpet! He was very careful to limit buffing of the bell engraving (as shown in the photos)! His objective was to preserve the beauty and performance of this rare and highly desirable trumpet. Great job Kevin! Thanks!
I brought in a Les Paul that had been exposed to cigarette smoke for an easy 12 years, Heritage happily accepted the challenge of de dunking the guitar and case, despite many people telling me if I were to remove the smoke odor I wouldn’t be able to play the blues on that guitar.
The process was several weeks but it paid off in the end and they did a very nice setup as well.
They were always friendly and helpful, I would definitely recommend and do business with them again.
Oh, and I made a sweet deal on the Koch amp!
This is my second time going to this repair shop. The first time, I lost a screw for my Gb trigger on my bass trombone, and couldn't find out which one it was (after going to the hardware store, and everything I thought was the same, didn't end up working). After searching for a few minutes, they found one! The most recent visit was after I had just bought a new bass trombone, but the tuning slides were very lose. I'd tried everything, even buying very sticky and thick slide grease, but it still didn't help. I was greeted by Kevin (I think, I'm terrible with names), told him my problem, and he said to come back in 45min-1hr. I was a little worried they would take it in for a few days since they are usually so busy, so I was surprised. But I came back, and it was fixed! I tested it out and it was perfect. It honestly made me so happy, and I was relieved since this was my first nice bass trombone and the only one I had, and I'm a college student, so I really needed it fixed asap. I appreciate everyone working with me, and getting it fixed very quickly. Even though these are smaller repairs, it's enough to get me to continue going them for my instrument repairs, and I'd recommend them to anyone.
I love these guys’ shop. They have a nice, small collection of guitars and a variety of other instruments. I brought in my 70’s Martin D-35 which was in a sorry state—needed refret, replacement binding from where it had cracked and come off, as well as a couple of little tweaks. Matt did amazing work, and relatively fast—I think I had my guitar back within a month or so, and it was almost like new. At least, it was new to me. He really made it sing like it hadn’t before, as long as I’d owned it. Highly recommend for guitar repair, and I believe they repair brass and other instruments as well.
